Researchers' Night brings talks on climate risks and digital euro
Banca d'Italia will take part in European Researchers' Night 2026 from 21 to 27 September with public presentations in Frascati and an open evening at its Donato Menichella Centre. Registration for the free event closes at 10.00 am on 23 September.
Two public lectures at Frascati Town Hall
The central bank will deliver two public lectures at the Frascati Town Hall as part of the Science Week initiatives coordinated by the Frascati Scienza association.
On 23 September, experts will address the energy transition and its economic implications from 11.00 am to 12.30 pm.
A second session on 24 September during the same time window will examine climate and environmental risks for the economy and the financial system.
Both events form part of an initiative promoted by the European Commission to examine the future of the planet and foster dialogue between citizens and the scientific community across Europe during the week running from 21 to 27 September 2026.
Doors open at the Menichella Centre
On Thursday 24 September, the Donato Menichella Centre in Frascati will welcome the public from 5.00 pm to 10.30 pm, with admission allowed until 8.30 pm.
Visitors will access guided tours, seminars, interactive activities and exhibitions exploring the digital euro, banknote sustainability, digital infrastructures, sustainable mobility and economic statistics.
The evening concludes with a musical performance.
Attendance requires online booking by 10.00 am on 23 September.
