The Bank of Japan will hold eight Monetary Policy Meetings in 2027, maintaining its standard policy cycle with two-day gatherings spread across the year.
The scheduled meeting dates begin with the first session on January 21 and 22, followed by meetings on March 17-18, April 27-28, June 10-11, July 21-22, September 21-22, October 28-29, and December 16-17. Four of these gatherings—in January, April, July, and October—will feature the release of the Bank's View section in the quarterly Outlook for Economic Activity and Prices immediately following the conclusion of the meeting.
Full text releases for these economic reports are slated for 2:00 p.m. on the next business day.
Timelines for summaries and minutes
In addition to meeting dates, the announcement outlines a structured timeline for post-meeting documentation.
The Summary of Opinions for each meeting will systematically appear at 8:50 a.m. several business days after each session closes, starting with the February 1 release for the January meeting.
Detailed official minutes will follow roughly one month later, also at 8:50 a.m.
The publication schedule confirms that the minutes of the final December 2026 meeting will be published on January 27, 2027.
