Governor Gabriel Makhlouf commissioned an independent review of the Central Bank of Ireland's enforcement activities, citing a larger and more complex financial system over the past decade.
Josephine Feehily, former Chair of the Revenue Commissioners and the Policing Authority, will lead the evaluation.
The review will examine case-selection criteria, decision-making structures, timeliness, and public transparency.
Feehily will engage with senior management, staff, and external stakeholders before submitting a final report with recommendations to the Governor for publication.
From tax administration to oversight
Feehily brings over 20 years of senior public service experience to the role.
She led the Office of the Revenue Commissioners as executive chairman from 2008 to 2015 and subsequently established Ireland's first Policing Authority.
She also chaired the Pensions Commission and currently heads the Governing Body of the Technological University of the Shannon.
Her extensive background includes leadership roles at the OECD Forum for Tax Administration and the World Customs Organisation.
