Whitaker memoir now digital, marks 110th birth anniversary

The digital release coincides with two significant anniversaries: 110 years since T.K. Whitaker's birth and 50 years since the conclusion of his term as Governor.

Governor Gabriel Makhlouf expressed delight, noting the publication helps preserve an important part of the Central Bank's history and the wider story of economic policymaking in Ireland.

The memoir's digital release coincides with the 2026 Whitaker Lecture, delivered by former Governor Patrick Honohan (2009-2015).

This annual lecture series honours T.K. Whitaker's profound legacy, featuring prominent economists like Mark Carney, Gita Gopinath, and Augustín Carstens in past editions.
