Czech economic statistics portal adds dynamic charts and REST API

Czech economic and financial statistics became accessible through a redesigned web portal and an updated ARAD database on October 8, 2026. The platform introduces interactive charts alongside automated data extraction via a dedicated REST API.

Dynamic charts meet four core domains

The Czech National Bank divided its redesigned statistics portal into four main areas: monetary and financial statistics, payment statistics, macroeconomic statistics, and supervisory statistics.

Key indicators appear in interactive charts that connect dynamically to the ARAD database, allowing users to move from visual summaries to detailed historical time series.

Methodological and technical support for statistical and supervisory reporting also received a revised layout.

“Our aim was to make it significantly easier for users to get from a question to the data they need,” said Simona Malovaná, Executive Director of the Research and Statistics Department.

The platform enables analysts to transition seamlessly from high-level overviews to underlying records.

API builder unlocks database queries

The overhauled ARAD database integrates advanced search filters, custom data selection tools, and direct access via an automated REST API.

Analysts can use the built-in API Builder tool to configure database calls directly within the interface.

ARAD hosts broad statistical datasets, supervisory metrics, Czech Statistical Office releases, and internal forecasts published in Monetary Policy Reports.

Bank Board member Jakub Seidler stressed that making public data immediately accessible is essential for sound economic decisions and rational debate across financial markets.

Modern plumbing for familiar data

A modernized interface and API builder provide welcome relief from cumbersome legacy spreadsheets.

Yet automated delivery only polishes distribution without deepening the scope or frequency of the reported statistics.

The upgrade removes workflow friction, but it amounts to basic technical hygiene rather than a transparency breakthrough.
