Jindřichová appointed deputy head of cash and payments

The Czech National Bank appointed Denisa Jindřichová as Deputy Executive Director of the Cash and Payments Department effective October 1, 2026. The Bank Board also launched a selection procedure for the department's top executive post ahead of a planned retirement.

Leadership transition in cash division

The Bank Board of the Czech National Bank (CNB) appointed Denisa Jindřichová as Deputy Executive Director of the Cash and Payments Department on September 30, 2026.

Taking office on October 1, she assumes direct responsibility for the Cash Circulation and Payment Media Protection Division.

She succeeds Jan Mayer, who stepped down from his managerial duties and left the central bank on September 30, 2026.

Mayer had directed the division since 2021 and served as deputy executive director from April 2024.

In parallel, Executive Director Ladislav Kročák announced his departure at the turn of 2026 and 2027 due to retirement, prompting the CNB to launch an open selection procedure for his successor.

Two decades of legal and supervisory expertise

Jindřichová brings extensive central bank experience across regulatory, operational, and supervisory functions.

After obtaining a doctoral law degree from Charles University, she served in the Cash and Payments Department between 2003 and 2015 as principal methodology specialist.

Her subsequent career included senior legal roles in financial regulation and enforcement, followed by her leadership of the Licensing Proceedings Unit from October 2023.

There, she oversaw licensing for credit institutions and financial sector notifications while lecturing in law and finance.

A safe pair of legal hands

The appointment secures institutional continuity in cash infrastructure ahead of a broader managerial handover.

Promoting an experienced legal specialist strengthens operational resilience during a period of leadership transition.

However, filling the top executive role will ultimately determine the department's strategic direction.
