Chandler King enters liquidation after advice complaints
Chandler King (City) Limited entered creditors’ voluntary liquidation on September 17, 2026. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) reported on October 26, 2026 that customers must contact the joint liquidators.
Advice complaints precede closure
Grace Jones and Karyn Jones of Parker Andrews were appointed joint liquidators of Chandler King, an independent adviser on investments and pensions.
The Financial Ombudsman Service upheld complaints about unsuitable investment advice and inadequate explanations of risk.
After reviewing its finances and receiving professional insolvency advice, the firm stopped trading and its director initiated liquidation.
Chandler King had agreed to an FCA voluntary requirement restricting its activities on April 28, 2026.
Its application to cancel its permissions remains under FCA review.
Existing complaints go to the liquidators; customers with complaints already referred to the ombudsman need take no action pending contact.
Recovery depends on asset assessment
The liquidators will assess client money and custody assets, then write to customers with return proposals and any claims process.
Distribution costs, including liquidators’ fees, may be deducted.
The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) covers eligible shortfalls and distribution costs up to £85,000. The liquidators will work with the FSCS to establish the position.
Customers can call Parker Andrews on 01603 284284 or visit www.parkerandrews.co.uk.
The FSCS is available on 0800 678 1100 and www.fscs.org.uk.
Authorisation does not cover insolvency
Chandler King remains FCA-authorised and subject to its rules.
The FCA does not regulate the liquidation or its practitioners.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales regulates the liquidators, who must follow insolvency law and answer to the courts.
