22 senior executives admitted to Hong Kong Financial Leaders Programme

The Hong Kong Academy of Finance admitted 22 senior executives to its Financial Leaders Programme (FLP) 2026 on March 24. These participants represent diverse financial sub-sectors, including banking, insurance, and asset management.

Nurturing Hong Kong's financial leadership

The Hong Kong Academy of Finance (AoF) launched the Financial Leaders Programme (FLP) in 2022, aiming to inspire and nurture Hong Kong's next generation of senior financial leaders.

The programme is designed to equip participants with a leadership mindset, enhance their understanding of financial issues from macro and systemic perspectives, and expand their professional networks.

It also provides a unique platform for participants to engage in dialogue with top leaders in financial services and other sectors.

The 22 newly admitted participants for the 2026 cohort represent a diverse spectrum of financial sub-sectors.

These include banking, insurance, investment banking, asset management, professional services, and financial regulatory bodies.

This broad representation ensures a rich exchange of insights and perspectives, strengthening the collective expertise within Hong Kong's financial ecosystem and preparing leaders for future challenges.

A proven track record of talent

The FLP consistently attracts high-calibre senior executives, typically one or two levels below the CEO position.

Since its launch in 2022, a total of 86 participants from nearly 50 public and private institutions have graduated from the past four cohorts, establishing a robust pool of financial leadership for Hong Kong.

The application period for the FLP 2026, from November 12 to December 14, 2025, received an enthusiastic response and numerous high-quality applications.

Following a competitive selection process, the Membership Committee of the AoF approved the admission of the 22 successful applicants, ensuring the programme continues to attract and develop top talent.

Investing in future financial strength

The continued success of the FLP underscores Hong Kong's commitment to developing its financial talent pipeline.

While the program's direct impact on systemic stability is long-term, its role in fostering cross-sector collaboration and leadership skills is invaluable.

This initiative is a crucial investment in the city's future as a leading international financial center.
