This represents a rise from US$430.8 billion recorded at the end of March 2026.
Furthermore, there were no unsettled foreign exchange contracts at end-April 2026, down from US$0.3 billion in the preceding month.
A robust financial buffer
The US$442.1 billion in foreign currency reserve assets represent over five times the currency in circulation and approximately 38% of Hong Kong dollar M3. This highlights Hong Kong's robust financial stability and the HKMA's commitment to transparency through IMF SDDS reporting.
