Ten NBFCs surrender registration certificates

Ten non-banking financial companies surrendered their certificates of registration to the Reserve Bank of India during September 2026. The regulator cancelled the permits under Section 45-IA of the RBI Act following voluntary business exits and corporate restructuring.

Six entities abandon non-banking operations

The Reserve Bank of India cancelled the registration certificates of six entities following their complete departure from the non-banking financial institution sector.

Among the departing firms was Vivriti Capital Limited, registered in Chennai, which surrendered both its primary registration and factoring permit effective September 10, 2026.

Other exiting companies included New Delhi-based Pragati Fincap Limited, whose license dated back to May 1998, along with PKSL Investment Private Limited and HCL Corporation Private Limited.

Assam-based Rajlakmi Vanijya Private Limited and Madhya Pradesh-based MSJ Colonising and Leasing Company Private Limited also had their permits revoked during the same monthly supervisory cycle.

Reclassifications and structural amalgamations

Beyond full operational exits, four additional firms ceased registration under alternative regulatory conditions.

Chennai-based PCR Investments Limited relinquished its status after qualifying as an unregistered Core Investment Company.

Similarly, Mumbai-based Aparna Investment Private Limited transitioned to an unregistered Type I entity under Section 45-IA criteria.

The remaining two institutions, Kolkata-based Vandana Griha Nirman Limited and Ramsisaria Builders Limited, lost their legal status entirely through corporate amalgamation, merger, or voluntary dissolution.

Administrative pruning without market friction

The surrenders represent routine administrative cleanup rather than sector stress.

Transitioning inactive entities and qualifying investment firms to exempt status cuts compliance burdens for all parties.

These cancellations cleanly prune dormant licenses without disturbing credit markets.
