Rural confidence survey opens across 31 Indian states and territories
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is launching its November 2026 Rural Consumer Confidence Survey across 31 states and union territories. It gathers household perceptions and expectations to inform monetary policy.
Household expectations feed policy
The Rural Consumer Confidence Survey (RCCS) covers households in rural and semi-urban areas.
It collects current perceptions and one-year-ahead expectations about the general economy, employment, overall prices, personal income and spending.
The RBI uses the results as inputs for monetary policy.
Ipsos Research Private Ltd., Gurugram, will conduct the November 2026 round on the RBI's behalf and approach selected households for responses.
Individuals not approached can also participate by completing the linked survey schedule and emailing it using the supplied contact details.
Queries go to the RBI's Division of Household Surveys, Department of Statistics and Information Management, in Mumbai, at 022-2657 8398 or 022-2657 8332.
The survey's geographic reach
Coverage spans Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Keralam, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, NCT of Delhi, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Tripura, Union Territory of Ladakh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.
These 31 states and union territories form the geographic scope of the November 2026 rural and semi-urban household survey.
Inputs, not results
The launch begins data collection rather than reporting a change in consumer confidence.
The release contains no survey findings or monetary policy decision.
Its policy connection is the RBI's use of household perceptions and expectations as inputs.
