General Council gains 11 members and 11 deputies for 2026–2030

Sweden's parliament elected 11 regular members and 11 deputies to the Riksbank's General Council on October 13, 2026, for the 2026–2030 term. The council will select its chair and vice-chair on October 23, 2026.

Eleven seats for four years

The Riksdag, Sweden's parliament, appointed the Riksbank's General Council for the 2026–2030 term on October 13, 2026.

The 11 regular members are Tomas Eneroth (S), Mattias Karlsson (M), Annelie Karlsson (S), Bo Broman (SD), Hans Hoff (S), Cherine Khalil (M), Ali Esbati (V), Christian Carlsson (KD), Mikael Larsson (C), Jonas Jacobsson Gjörtler (M) and Emma Lennartsson (S).

The council consists of these regular members and 11 deputies, all appointed by parliament.

Their terms of office correspond to the Riksdag's parliamentary terms.

The new council will hold its inaugural meeting on October 23, 2026, when it will select a chair and vice-chair from among its members.

The deputy roster completes membership

The 11 deputies are Mathias Tegnér (S), Jan Ericson (M), Ida Karkiainen (S), Dennis Dioukarev (SD), Fredrik Olovsson (S), Saila Quicklund (M), Ilona Szatmári Waldau (V), Mikael Eskilandersson (SD), Madelaine Jakobsson (C), Johan Hultberg (M) and Ulf Holm (MP).

Together with the regular members, they complete the General Council's parliamentary appointments for 2026–2030.

The Riksbank updated the notice on October 13, 2026, and lists its Press Office as the contact, at +46 8-7870200.

Membership settled, leadership pending

The parliamentary vote establishes the council's membership for the full 2026–2030 term.

It leaves the chair and vice-chair positions for the council itself to decide.

The October 23 inaugural meeting therefore completes the leadership selection rather than the appointment of members.
