Banco de España launches experimental household wealth data
The Banco de España has begun publishing experimental Distributional Wealth Accounts (DWA) for Spanish households on its website. The quarterly data provides insights into net wealth distribution up to the second quarter of 2025.
New insights into household wealth distribution
The new Distributional Wealth Accounts (DWA) offer a quarterly view into the distribution of net wealth and its components across various household groups in Spain.
These experimental statistics complement aggregate national accounts by integrating microdata from the Spanish Survey of Household Finances (EFF).
The initial publication covers data up to the second quarter of 2025 and will be updated quarterly with a five-month lag.
Consistent with ECB's established methodology
The BDE's DWA adhere to the methodology established by the European Central Bank (ECB) and the European System of Central Banks (ESCB).
This approach ensures full consistency with DWA results already published by the ECB for all euro area countries, including Spain (excluding Croatia).
The ECB will continue its parallel publication of broader euro area results.
