Call for papers issued for Banca d'Italia monetary policy conference

Banca d'Italia will host its second Annual Research Conference on Monetary Policy in Rome on June 18-19, 2026. The central bank invites economists from academia and other central banks to submit papers on key issues in monetary economics.

Exploring monetary policy frontiers

The conference aims to gather economists from both academia and central banks to engage in discussions on critical aspects of monetary policy.

Both theoretical and empirical research contributing to monetary economics and policy are encouraged.

A particular emphasis will be placed on papers that address current policy challenges.

Topics of interest include monetary policy under information frictions and uncertainty, central bank communication strategies, the dynamics of inflation expectations and their anchoring, and the implications of structural changes, fragmentation, and supply chain disruptions for monetary policy.

Additionally, the conference will explore interactions between monetary and fiscal policies, as well as the effects of heterogeneity and inequality on monetary policy frameworks.

This broad scope ensures a comprehensive exploration of contemporary monetary issues.
