28th company law regime targets easier cross-border growth
The Bank of Italy will host a conference on November 12 on the proposed EU Inc. company law framework. The optional regime aims to simplify company formation and support cross-border growth within the Single Market.
One framework alongside national laws
The proposed EU regulation would establish a 28th regime and introduce EU Inc., creating a uniform company law framework that businesses could choose instead of national legal regimes.
Its stated objectives are simpler company formation and support for cross-border business growth within the Single Market.
Representatives of public institutions, academia and the business community will examine the proposal's legal and economic dimensions.
Four sessions will cover the framework's key features, its anticipated economic impact, the relationship between company law and venture capital, and the UNCITRAL Legislative Guide on Limited Liability Enterprises.
In person and in English
The Carlo Azeglio Ciampi Conference Centre will host the conference on November 12, 2026.
Entitled “28th Regime, EU Inc. and Other Attempts to Unify Company Law,” the event will take place in English, with in-person attendance only.
Participation is open to all interested attendees.
Registration requests must reach CSL.SeminariGiuridici@bancaditalia.it by Monday, November 9. The announcement directs participants to the full programme for further information.
An alternative, not a replacement
The proposal offers an alternative to national company law, not its replacement.
Its stated purpose is to simplify formation and support cross-border growth within the Single Market.
The conference examines a proposed framework rather than an adopted regime.
