Business Climate Index rises to minus 2.4 in August
The Bank of Russia reported that its Business Climate Index improved to minus 2.4 points in August 2026 from minus 3.5 points in July. The uptick was driven by stronger three-month corporate expectations for output and demand alongside better assessments of lending conditions.
Expectations drive index recovery

In addition to improved short-term operational prospects, corporate respondents provided more positive evaluations of current credit availability, noting a favorable shift in commercial lending conditions relative to the previous month.
