EBA launches Pillar 3 data hub for prudential information
The European Banking Authority (EBA) has launched its Pillar 3 data hub, making prudential information from all EEA institutions publicly accessible. This new platform significantly enhances the availability and comparability of financial data across the EU.
Boosting transparency and market discipline
The EBA's new Pillar 3 data hub makes prudential information from all European Economic Area (EEA) institutions publicly accessible for the first time.
This digital platform, which went live today, significantly enhances the availability, usability, and comparability of financial data across the EU.
By boosting transparency and supporting market discipline, the hub aims to strengthen the resilience and soundness of the European financial system.
The first wave of institutions has successfully onboarded, enabling Pillar 3 reports to be submitted and published.
Users can explore the official data through an intuitive visualisation tool, allowing for easy comparisons across institutions and reference dates.
Bulk data downloads are also available for deeper analysis.
The full dataset for the first three reference dates – June, September, and December 2025 – is expected to be available by June this year.
Transition period and future plans
The launch of the data hub follows a successful testing phase with a sample of institutions.
A transition period is now in effect, allowing institutions to familiarise themselves with the platform and submission process.
During this time, institutions are expected to submit Pillar 3 reports they have already published on their own websites for 2025 reference dates, in line with transitional arrangements.
This period will conclude with the submission of reports for the December 2025 reference date.
The new Banking Package (CRR3/CRD6), implementing Basel III reforms, mandates the EBA to develop this hub.
The EBA also intends to introduce a dynamic dashboard of key indicators in the visualisation tool, planned to evolve based on industry feedback.
